Did you change anything while in the process of assembling or fabricating the
bed, bed mounts, frame etc.? Thats all I can think of. I know very little
about any difference in 47-53 running boards. when I get home I can take some
measurements off my 51 shortbed. Just tell me what you want me to measure.

Hello all, I have a 1954 3100 1/2 ton short bed. I did an off frame
restoration, I painted it in piece's. I have a set of new original
running boards,I had to weld the bracket's that hold the carriage
bolts that bolt up to the running boards, my problem is I can't get
the fender to bolt up the the running boards ,where the running board
bolts to the front bottom of the fender to the rear of the running
board, there is a gap about 1" on the left side and about 1/4" on the
right side. When I install the panel between the bed and running
board.the running board mounting holes don't line up. According to all
the books I read the Running Board and the Rear Fenders are all the
same 47-55 1st. series. Any Ideas? It's got me stumped, . appreciate
the help.
