Tom,
Having been told I could order a sending unit for my 3800 from AutoZone, I
ordered one, and it came in yesterday.
Problem was it wasn't a sending unit under that part number, oh well.
I promptly ordered one from Chevy Duty. I'll let everyone know how it looks
when it comes in.
They were, as always, very helpful, although a bit unsure of the nature of
my setup. A '53 3800 sending unit didn't
come up with what my sender looks like. After taking a few measurements and
their willingness to do the same
we came up with what is a good match, which was a sending unit from 55-57,
dead match physically along with being 30 ohms.
My tanks is under the bed, sender in the top.
Good luck.
Casey
