Hi all -

I have a 1949 3100 that was my grandfather's and I am starting to try
to get it going and pretty this year.

We got the 235 that is in it started, but before we did, we got 5
quarts of water and sludge out of it. I just don't think that it is
going to be a reliable engine for the long term. In the past, I have
not been happy with the results of having a local guy rebuild the
engine on an old car, so I thought of looking for someone that would
ship me a fully remanufactured and painted complete engine with a
warranty.

What are your thoughts on this? Know of any good sources? I saw that
Chevy Duty does not sell complete engines, but Jim Carter has long
blocks. However, I didn't see on his site anything about warranty or
what exactly has been done to his motors.

Thanks for any guidance -
Michael
