I just finished total overhaul of my 1940 pickup engine. I am ready to start
it up and check for leaks, etc, etc. My generator is rebuilt and mounted in
place. It is not wired up to anything. The only things wired up are the
starter, coil and distributor. My question is: Do I need to need to do
anything to the generator to protect it from damage while it spins around. I
was thinking that I read once that it needed to have something grounded if
you were running it without a load on it?????

Thanks,

Mike
