Welcome aboard, Rusty! As an Alabama native and now an NC resident, I share
your love of the South. And I sure agree with you about the old iron. Nothing
like it. Nice to see you want to keep your truck as the Good Lord
intended....stock. You're definitely in the right place to get...and
give...info on your 'new' truck. Lots of great folks on this list, and they're
always willing to help. And a few of us always seem to be in the need for
help. Welcome to the list, and we'll look forward to hearing from you. Best
of luck with your '50 Chevy!

  Subject: [old-chevy-truck] Intro....

Just a intro note and to say hello and thanks for allowing me to join.

  A little about me:
  Age 51
Born in the south, plan on dieing there too.
  Live in South Alabama
  I'm a Ship Captain
  Ride and love Harleys
Been thru lifes ringer and have been restored (over and over)
As a result of the above line I have a deep love for anything old,
banged up and in need of help.
If its old I want it...not interested in what the hell it is either. I
love tinkering and polishing it back to new.
  I just bought a 1950 1/2 ton Chevy 3100
She is in great shape and does not require a whole lot of
anything...new wiring harness, tires, tune up, oil, lube and
antifreeze. A few buffs here and there, a new this and that and lastly
sweeting up the engine bay. My plan is to keep her as she is, as
  original as possible.
I hope to become a giver here as well as ask a helluva lot of
  questions.
I'll post some pics of her real soon.
  Thanks again,
  Rusty
