Kurt, I painted my grilles with Krylon spray can - I think it was Dull Aluminum. I probably have the can in the garage, so I can check and see for sure what the number is. I hand sanded the entire grille, making sure to get in between the ribs to remove all of the old flaking paint (that was a chore). Then I sprayed the grille silver, waited for it to dry, then hand painted the inserts using a Testors model brush and black paint. That was tough as it was difficult to paint only the bottoms of the inserts, and I got paint on the walls of some of them. There may be a better way of masking and spraying, but I didn't experiment with that. Here's a picture of the finished grille: http://www.oldspower.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=2309 I can send you more pics if you're interested.
