Hello all-
I posted a simmilar msg to the G-body list and got varying results. I'll
give you guys a chance to toss in your $.02.
My mom bought an '86 Cutlass Supreme Brougham Sedan in Jan. of '86. She
asked the dealer to install a rigid hitch. That summer we used it to tow a
pop up trailer. With all the gear in the trunk plus two kids it sat awful
low in the back and she took it back to the dealer for them to install heavy
duty gas shocks.
I'm surprised that, at that time, they didn't offer to put in Cargo Coils or
Superlift Shocks.
Anyway...fast forward 20 years of low-rear towing... I've installed cargo
coils and have recently become aware of the Superlift Shock system.
Is cargo coils *and* superlifts overkill? On the G-body list some think
that the air shocks ride like bricks. Another member thinks they work just
as good as regular shocks. I guess the only place that still makes 'em is
Monroe.
So... Do they ride that much worse than regular shocks? And, with cargo
coils, will they even be necessary?
