OK,
I am expecting my
new stage 2 heads and intake for my '96 Cutlass Supreme Coupe 3100 V6 soon. Now
before I install them, I have a question about DEXCOOL. I have 2 friends with
the same engine as me, one in a Grand Prix, the other Grand Am. Both had to
replace their intake manifold gasket at around 35,000 miles. They both claim
their mechanics blamed the problem on DEXCOOL and after the repair, flushed
their systems and refilled with Green. This comes as a surprise to me because I
have heard lots of bad news about the design of my engine's gaskets, but I have
only heard good things about DEXCOOL. Does anybody have an opinion about this?
Anybody replace the intake manifold or head gaskets on this engine, and what
type of coolant do you have now? How has it held up?
I shall add that my
parts are coming from Milzy Motorsports in Ohio. I have only heard a little
about him (Mike Miller, owner) but it has been all good. Anybody else know
anything about him, the team or company.
