not all 4.6 vortec are junk.... mine was a 97 with fuel injection...
something
made out of plastic, yup plastic.... even the intake was made out of some
kind
of plastic... fuel would not stop running into the intake after I took my
foot off
the pedel. was going to cost 1000.00 for new fuel injection, and it was the
same
crap... add the Dexcool into the mix changing water pumps, rad's and
heater
cores... time for a big change.. and I like the truck... so the big swap.

on this one, no computer, as I said.. does this mean yours is going to act
like mine?
nope! some did and for some unknown reason, some did not... and GM said to
me, to bad, sorry, and they don't even make that fuel injection system
anymore.. the 4.6 vortec with a carb set-up (like the ones in boats) run
great! easy to make 225 hp with them... so, if it ain't broke...... but,
time to flush out your system anyway, so, why not fill her up with the old
tired and ture green stuff... some wetter wet, pump lube, change the oil
and filter every 3000 miles, and she will last forever.... again, just my 2
cents worth
