Doug,
I believe the Perma dry plus are the ones that you want, although I am not
sure of the name, the ones to get are not made of cork but a blue silicone
material with metal inserts where the valve cover bolts go. That way you
something to tighten the valve cover bolt down onto, rather than having the
cork gasket mush out / valve cover bending.

Doug,
I agree 110% on the FelPro gaskets, I have had better luck with them than
the Detroit brand. I notice though that most of the engine rebuilders in
this area provide a Detroit brand gasket kit with there remans. Guess it

a cost issue?
I really like the premium FelPro valve cover gaskets, blue silicone with
the
metal inserts so you can't overtighten, keeps bending the v/covers to a
minimum. Also makes it easy to "fully drive, seated and not stripped"
(per
GM speak and recommendations) since you have a finite spacer which comes
down tight.
do you by chance know which ones are these VC gaskets?
the felpro catalog lists 3 non-cork gaskets, VS13403R 3/32" thick,
VS50259R 11/64" thick, and VS13403T "perma dry plus"....
the full engine kit minus the intake manifold gaskets, FS8171PT4,
sells at autozone for $90. this includes head gaskets, ex gaskets,
val. stem seals, timing/oilpan/water pump,,etc...
(the ROL kit is $46).
the KS2613, which is also listed as 'engine kit', (int manifold
gskt & 2 piece manifolds not included,) is $38. I'm not sure what this
includes..,
