The absence of the 400493 on the crank also disturbs me. It's the real deal, see that J shaped notch on the rear face. That's all you need to see. The number is generally there but very difficult to find. The dies were stamping out red-hot hi-quality steel, and the ID numbers did not seem to last long. Thus they soon made weak impressions in the part.
