TJ is perfectly correct.

There's and old and new OEM designs plus aftermarket parts variences. The exact same thing happens on A-body brake drums. I've got 2 or 3 styles of used ones that are still usable sitting on the shelf.

Old and new (or after market) design differences. Also non flared is  most
likely an after market part. I ran into that a lot when I sold after market parts (Raybestos, Wagner etc.), people would bring the new part back with the
old one to compare them to be sure.
