The plastic bulb holder used with wedge-base bulbs like 194 and 168. For whatever reason the '77-up RWD Deltas and 98s had problems with the plastic instrument cluster housing and printed circuit -- I think the housing warped over time due to bulb heat.
One of the bulbs in my 85 Delta's speedo went dark, so I pulled the panel off. When I went to put a new bulb in, the socket popped out the back and went into the dash somewhere. I figure it's hanging by wires.. I can't imagine a socket becoming disconnected from a circuitboard. I was too upset to take it apart further.
I never thought that cluster design used enough bulbs anyway.
Indeed. That one bulb missing makes the speedo and PRNDL unreadable at night.
