Jerry,If you stay with a stock 5 quart oil pan, I would stay with the stock oil pump. The Toronado 6 quart oil pan or the Milodon 7 or 8 quart oil pans are for use with the high volume Melling oil pump. The bigger pan allows enough oil to be available so there will be no danger of pumping the oil pan dry when using the high volume oil pump.
