NON OLDS - 1999 Lumina Question

The turn signal switch on my 1999 Lumina needs to be replaced (it's 
causing my brake lights not to work - what's up with that?).  Anyhow, 
as I don't yet have a service manual for this car, do I need to pull 
the steering wheel to replace this switch or is there an easier way 
to accomplish this?
