I can confirm that the 6 does indeed curl around much more than
necessary. It looks a *lot* like an 8.
Got the engine from my '70 sitting right here in the driveway...
However, zooming in a little on this photo:

that sure looks like an 8 to me. It dimples in on both sides. The 6
doesn't.
He has corrected the auction to state that it is just a W-27 cover,
at least.
