Kevin,

The expensive bit for me will be the (custom) forged pistons, since flat- tops ain't gonna be boost-friendly. I could get away with using flat- tops and big-block or #8 (or 403 4A) heads. That would drop the compression to
a more boost-friendly number. Shooting for 8.0:1 - 8.5:1.

You're confusing me. To get 8-1 CR, you need a flat top piston. You also need forged pistons to handle the pessure from the turbos. So what's the problem? You will need to design a flat top forged piston to work in your application and have Ross, J&R, Arias, BRC, etc. make it. In your case, it will be a neat piston, since it will be down in the hole enough that you
won't need valve releifs cut.

I can only use flat-top pistons *if* I use BBO-chamber heads, which will also require intake modifications if I actually use BBO heads. If I use #8 or 4A heads, I have to redrill the block for 1/2 head bolts (not necessarily a bad thing,) or use those bushings for just such an emergency. If I want to use stock #6,7,8 heads, I need forged pistons made to the same specs as stock '71-2 pistons. First thing to do is to measure an actual head gasket, and decide on heads and CC them, then fart around with pistons. Unless I stumble into a couple thousand dollars (Let's go, Texas Lottery! :D), this is all probably years in the future... I'll probably start asking for help then from the experienced on ordering custom pistons.

On digest mode, so I'm a little slow...
