My theory is, staying clean is way better than cleaning up afterwords. I use the drip pan (3' X 8' sheet metal with edges bent up) under cars driven and parked in a regular spot. For working under the car, big sheets of cardboard can be positioned to catch most stuff. When they get too bad, burn them and start another.
Also I have a bunch of 10 gallon plastic storage bins to catch big drips. On latest radiator swap. Catch the anifreeze, put the lid on to keep it clean, get another one to catch trans fluid, some screw on plugs for the lines minimize this. When all that fails, there is the kitty litter.
