The cause of my low/no oil pressure problem is the pick up screen fell off
my oil pump pick up tube assembly. The box shaped part was in the bottom of
the pan, and it would be sucked up against the open tube, restricting flow.

The pick up screen is held to the tube by 3 tiny tack welds, so I believe
that vibration and oil flow worked on the welds, breaking them.

The parts are Milodon. The pick up part number is 18411.

It appears that the cam got damaged as well.

The damage so far: cam/rod/main bearings, oil pump, cam/lifters, rings......

I have seen this failure before. The local machine shop / parts house I use routinely adds a few extra tack welds to this area and they strongly recommend tack welding the pickup tube to the pump housing. Sorry to hear you had so much additional damage.
