hmmmm.... my 74 CS with a hot 355 never overheated in his life with me, 10
yrs, no shroud, flex fan, high CR, 350HP, short gears and 3200 converter-
you can see the heat potential in this combo. AFAIR, the "no AC" cars had no
shroud.

In addition to what everyone else has said, make sure you have the right
fan shroud on your car, and that the fan blades are positioned the right
depth into the shroud (about 1/2 inside the shroud looking from the side).
You didn't mention if the shroud is there or not. My recently purchased

S is missing its shroud. It heats up during slow driving because of this
... it's got a W31 clone 350 motor and a 4-row copper brass radiator ...
it
needs a shroud.
