You don't have to be brave, dumb in public worked for me. Well, I wasn't
exactly trying to see if the fan clutch worked -- let me explain:
Just before Chelsea and I were married, I was working desperately to get the
Silver Bullet (1980 Starfire GT) finished up so we could drive it away from
the wedding. While adjusting the timing (on a 231 V-6 with the distributor up
front), I inadvertently brushed up against the power steering belt that runs
along in front of the distributor. This caused me to recoil, and when I did my
right index finger found out that the fan clutch _was_ working OK.
That was over 10 years ago, and only recently did the fingernail on that
finger finally stop splitting right where they sewed it back on. We recently
watched the tape from the wedding, and you can see my right index finger all
wrapped up -- it wasn't pretty!
Also, I want to say how I regretted not getting to meet up with you Milton
when you were here in KC -- we'll just have to come out to Arizona, Chelsea
wants to do some bird watching and I want to do some salvage yard expeditions!
TAKE CARE -- no fingers in fans, please.
