If you feel that it might not take.... you can do the old fashion way. Go to your local boat store, fabric store, and get some UV rated thread and sew a patch on....
==================yeah, sew a hem? or whatyacallit around the hole, like a button hole, and let the antenna stick thru when in use.
Go with the flowor, replace the antenna again. Install your own switch to control when it goes up/down perhaps.
