Chris: Wow, it's [7028253] like the loch ness monster.
================
ayep, you will near of it but never quite see it.

This is my first '68 442 so I
didn't know how hard the carburetors were to come by. I looked up the
7029253 and it seems to be manual transmission and mine's an automatic.
==================
odd final digit = Manual trans [as a rule, routinely ignored]
More like:
'250 = Olds SB [350]
'251 = Run of the mill BB and some H/O's even [68, 69]
'252 = Toro
'253 = MT 442 apps ['68 unfindable; '69's Plentiful, I can get you NOS one $400] '254 = W30 [not in 1966 though] [[68 hella rare but they exist; '69's more common]
'255 = W31, even rarer.

'256-7-8 = Really rare numbers used mainly in 1970-72, for the W30 configurations. Not used in '68.

Honestly, I don't know what difference their would be in how the car would
work or run. I have some literature at home on Delco carburetors. I'll
check into the applications more and I'll get back with you.
=================
Very little diff. Use what's handy
For your AT '68 442- the 7028251 is ideal and numbers matching.
I can get you a nice rebuilt one for $300 delivered. BUT, just went thru this- all the '251's are either ugly gray color, or the wrong later hot air type choke- easy convert to electric choke! Just sold one of them. Shipped it Thursday. I can get some 7029251's with correct divorced choke too, just the year digit differs. All else same. Price same, all rebuilt carbs $300 delivered.

And, if you ever come across that cigarette bezel, please let me know. It's the same
for any 68 and probably 69 Cutlass or 442. No one makes a reproduction.
=================
'68 only
A body or Toro- Cutlass, 442, Vista, Toro
B+C body [88,98] is same part but colored silver- paint it and be happy?
