At the Ch*vy-(formerly) Olds dealer where I bought my Intrigue, one of the
principals has a collection of vintage cars that he is selling off
gradually. Right now there is a group there on display for sale: A '62
Caddy Fleetwood 4-door (neat, very nice), a '73 Cougar, a '71 Torino GT,
and a '69 4-4-2. A '64 Impala SS 409 sold last week.
I was able to take a quick look at it and it's pretty good. It's a
hardtop, dark green metallic with black vinyl roof, black bucket seat
interior, automatic/console, aftermarket radio and guages. Wheels are
later 15-inch SSIIIs with 60-series Firestone Firehawk tires. Paint is
nice (I noticed some flaws on the trunk lid), chrome is pretty good,
interior is excellent. Engine has an Edelbrock intake and air cleaner,
and headers. Think it's drum brakes but not certain. Overall it's a very
appealing car, not perfect, but nice. He would take $23K Canadian I'm
told. Probably not a bad deal these days.
He is in the process of restoring a '72 4-4-2 right now so he won't be
Olds-less for long.
