If I recall correctly they estimated the HP at 405. The Idea was to get better than stock performance with readily available junkyard parts at low prices. I have followed this pretty close, thus the WZ manifolds rather than headers. NO doubt headers will kick the HP up lots but then there is the associated cost for the HP. I think when the article was written one could put the complete drive line together for less than $500. Now a Q-Jet rebuild and set of WZ manifolds are $600+
