Reaching the end of a job interview, the human resources person asked a
young engineer fresh out of MIT what kind of a salary he was looking for.
"In the neighborhood of $140,000 a year, depending on the benefits package."
"Well, what would you say to $10 an hour, you punch a time clock, docked a
day's pay if you are 1 minute late, fired if you are late 3 times a year, no
leaving the premises, we let you have the 5 major Holidays off (w/o pay of
course), you must pass a drug test and background check, Holiday Bonus might
be a $20 turkey, and oh, mandatory overtime to 60 hrs a week as we see fit?
"
[jobless applicant:]
"Well, not quite what I sent to college for, but I guess I'l take it."
Interviewer:
"Wow! Are you kidding?"
Applicant:
"I so WISH that we were kidding; when can I start, sir?"
