How do you go about activating it thru the new address?

As you may or may not have noticed, there has been another spam storm or
other incident at Chebucto that has brought the Olds list to a standstill
the last few days. All I am seeing in my Chebucto inbox is spam, several
hundred such messages, while in my 2 other mailboxes I am seeing no such
thing.
I've had enough with Chebucto. While I'm grateful for their hosting and
assistance over the years, it seems they can't handle what's going on out
there these days. So I've made the decision to move the list to Google
groups, which is tested and works fine from everything I can tell.
I need to work out the transition details, but I expect that I will invite
each of you to join the new list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and activate it
over the next week or so. I could just add the existing address list to
the new group, but I'm not sure that's such a good thing to do. I will ask
Chebucto to turn off the list at some point, possibly early in the new
year, assuming all goes well.
The hardest part will be finding all the web references to this address
and getting them changed to the new one, but all in good time.
