I am 40 years old, and have used Valvoline oils on an as close to a 3000
mile change as possible, since I was able to pick up the can after my dad
shoved
the spout into the top of it. I have a 1966 425 that I road hard and put
away wet on a regular basis (un official fastest car in my high school). It
finally quit running on me about 1988 and was removed from the ElCamino and
stuck
in the garage. My daughter and I just recently took it apart. The inside of
the block looked like it just came out of the hot tank, the bearings showed
little signs of ware and other than the broken compression ring land on the #8
piston due to the wonderful grade of fuel we were stuck with, I could have
replaced that piston and rings and put the engine back in service without any
reservations. I have also seen the inside of Pensoil engines that were taken
care of in the same manner as mine that had so much sludge build up it was a
wonder they had any oil pressure at all. So for me it will ALWAYS be
Valvoline. I do agree with the quote "If the people spending all the money on
R & D
didn't put it in there, it must not belong there."
