Inconsistent behavior in AddPerson (rails)

When I run the web app and manually register a user, after the  
registration I'm taken to the PersonDetail page in both the PHP and  
Java app. This seems natural. However, in the rails app this is not  
true. It reverts to the Home page with just a message at the top  
saying that the User was successfully created.
Is there a reason for the rails app to behave in this manner ?
