Most gas-sensor-oriented research and industry initiatives focus on gas sensing, sensor networking, chemical/biomedical sensors theory, technology and applications, gas-sensing functional materials, micro-nano-fabrication technology, and security and privacy. The evolution of gas applications and new business services make the gas sensing research very challenging. GGSP’2014 is the next event, in a series of highly successful international conferences on gas sensors and sensing technologies. Previous GGSP is held with IEEE iThing’2013 in Beijing, China. GGSP’2014 aims to provide a forum that brings together researchers from academia, practitioners from industry, standardization bodies, and government to meet and exchange ideas on recent research and future directions for the gas industry. The technical discussion will be focused on the communications aspects and key enabling technologies for gas applications, especially sensing networks, sensing platforms, M2M communications and networking, RFID technology and Near Field Communications (NFC). The technical topics of interest to the workshop include, but are not limited to: Gas sensor theory, characterization and modeling QCM and FBAR thickness resonators SAW, LW and FPW wave resonators Micro-cantilever, Nano-cantilever and NEMS beam and plate resonators MOS, Polymer, Nanotube and Nanowire Optical and other types of gas sensors Gas sensor arrays and Gas sensor networks Gas sensing platform, Electronic olfaction system (EOS) or E-nose Signal processing and Pattern recognition Functional materials and Micro-nano-fabrication Author Guidelines Important Dates Full Paper Submission: Aug. 15, 2014 Acceptance Notification: Sep. 30, 2014 Workshop Date: Dec. 10, 2014 The authors should follow the IEEE guidelines that apply to all UIC submissions when preparing their contributions (maximum paper length: 6 pages with 10-pt font).
