Subject: Communications - Alpha2 (and not only) Some thoughts
To: OpenMandriva Workshop <[email protected]>

Hello,

I've been recently driven to realize that an Alpha2 release is, for
the wide people, less attractive for download and testing than a Beta
(alphas vs. betas).

I believe that it didn't earn the "Beta" status just because of
problems arose inside the procedure leading to release/publishing, not
because of the product quality.
TC meeting rightly identified most of the missing/not-well-managed
factors involved though.

That said, some humble considerations:

Other than a full list of specifications (it was as usual very well
and professionally documented), from a user's pov I'd like to read a
shorter one listing the "changelog" from A1 to A2. Something more
"user-friendly" that make me curious to see improvements and willing
to try and discover them.
Since it should have been originally a beta release there are some
important changes, they should be highlighted.

Testers and bug-hunters are an invaluable treasure, without them we
cannot release our distro at top standard (and we'll make poor figures
too.. :P )
I'd like to dedicate (yes, every time) a couple of rows to thank them.

Wdyt?
