Just a thought, AFIKS is in python , would be compatible with python3 abi?
To relay on python2 for the welcome is tricky , for obvious reasons.

-- on my system (OMLx2013) the font used in the thumbnails "Configure"
"Contribute" and "Applications", is very very small.
i set the resolution to 1024x600, I have not tested in large resolutions (
the mine is 1366x768) may have to increase the fonts

yes, the script to install packages is simple, only checks if package
are installed,
else checks arch and install
good idea to improve the script,
about python3 i test, but bigbashview (core of om-welcome) is in python2
and in python3 have many syntax errors, if someone can fix this, it would
be nice
