We now have a Simple Welcome very impressive.
64 bit report in about 30 minutes unless someone else tests it sooner

64-bit 3366 on a usb key.
Installation, diskdrake custom new reiserfs / partition was normal.
First boot, OMV Welcome is very impressive and comprehensive.
Congratulations on this work! Some tweaking of the English wording
would be beneficial and I discovered a couple of bugs:
1) In Application > Multimedia > Codecs, I clicked to install codecs,
which is a *great* feature. I authenticated as root but got, "no
package named lib64dvdcss, no package named liba52dec0, codecs not
installed".
2) In Configure > Add Medias, pressing the button resulted in no result.
OMVCC button did work and I checked in Media Manager that main, contrib,
non-free, restricted plus respective updates were configured with
$MIRRORLIST and enabled. I even tried urpmi.update -a in terminal, all
reported up-to-date, and the codecs feature failed as before.
XFdrake enabled me to install and configure the fglrx packages. One
oddity: it seems the preferred resolution of my Samsung plasma
wide-screen TV is being detected and auto-filled, while my initial
configuration is desired to be for the Samsung SyncMaster 220WM
monitor. I don't know if diskdrake can be enhanced to select/set as
default a certain monitor if more than one is connected but I was able
to simply configure the proper settings, anyway. Next boot, fglrx and
my settings were loaded, all seems fine, there.
Wish list/feature requests:
1) I have many disks and OS. In grub legacy, the installer allowed to
install grub to the boot record of a partition. Could this choice be
provided in installer for grub2?
2)Mostly, I wish for a return of the old drakx installer or something
similar, the ability to make individual choices of packages, to install
groups, such as Development, which simplifies future building of
software on the machine. Otherwise, removing unneeded hardware/locale
packages is quite useful, avoiding a lot of unnecessary updates, unless
something is done manually. Can this first-time feature, disabled on
this iso, be run after first boot?
Thanks,
Rolf
