In fact, the target / partition (former home of Mandriva 2011.0, where freespace was
37% before reformatting) size is 4.4MiB (installer reports it as 4.2GB; total
filesystem blocks 71827456).
Shortly before that it told me that 1024 RAM is required, while 994 (not counting
existing swap space) is available, but it let me proceed anyway. 994 is available
because motherboard maximum is 1024, and the i845G onboard video requires some of it.
Trying to fix on tty1 installer's misinterpreted BIOS clock set to local time at
first fails to be noticed by the installer after getting a valid result, then the GUI
stops responding to mouse clicks.
Canceling at the partitioner screen after the not enough disk space screen does not
give an opportunity to return to tty1, mount a location to copy logs, and copy them
prior to it proceeding to reboot.
Booting to a desktop instead of the installer produces a dark and unusable
molasses-like/non-responsive effect, likely because compositing hasn't been disabled
for the benefit of the 2.4GHz single core CPU and onboard video.
Trying to login on tty3 fails due to lack of response timeout every time.
