Hi
I have a small but cool and smart improvement / fix for the Kde,
as the change fixed for me the issue, I have asked Colin to test
Just this morning:
Colin Close has tested it in his netbook and he's rather enthusiast
[12:17] <nicco_> [11:43] <itchka__> here I am nicco trying you new fix
and it seems to work really well I have been very careless in trying
to keep my fingers away fro the touchpad and not a single problem.
This is BRILLIANT. Well done nicco

[12:18] <nicco_> ---
This problem was even discussed with TPG, in a previous pvt
discussion, some days ago
Here we come:
When you edit some text or mail or a web page, you are editing fastly
and you find all messed,
because the pointer changes its position, the resulting text is all as
garbled, and it's frustrating!
a> I have noticed this is happening everywhere, also with other OS,
for example, Windows OS
b>This bad behaviour seems to happen only with portable PCs, not when
editing with desktops
I started to study this problem, that sometime really risk to getting
you crazy
I started to suspect this could be caused by some unwilled touches or
too close skin, on the touchpads, when this happens, it forces you to
edit text slowly, watching with care the display, slowdown you much

here the solution, tested by me into two laptops, and into Colin netbook

How to change this into the KDE keys?
==================================
the keys to change are two:
- SmartModeDelay=500
- SmartModeEnable=true
Delay time:
a value lesser than 1000ms but greater than 275 behaves well,
so I think we should use something in the middle, like 500ms
this was tested with our laptops, needs a bit more testing...
during this time lapse, you are typing, touchpad get disabled

Thanks for Your attention
bye, NicCo
