Nicco,

We have ambitious plan for 2015.0 release, and we can not fail on it. That is
why we are going to release 2014.1 ASAP to fix most noticeable bugs, and
finally focus on our big plan.
On TC, we discussed this, also Bero approved above.

KDE-4.14 will be a mix of kde plasma 4 with kde framweork 5, which sounds like
a bad joke.

Subject: KDE SC 3.14 will be released soon as stable, on August 13!

Hi

I have read that new Kde 4.14 will be released on August 13
(it seems that Kde 3.14 could be the last Kde with plasma 4)
http://www.lffl.org/2014/04/kde-sc-414-verra-rilasciato-il-prossimo.html

ROSA Fresh R4 2014.1
so I hope that rosa2014.1 will be based on stable Kde 3.14!

OpenMandriva 2014.1 : but why rush? someone is chasing us?
I hope that omv2014.1 postpone their release to end of August
so we could be able to have there also the new Kde 4.14,
in this case its release would be much important from 2014.0

It's a very bad and "not smart" choise if omv2014.1 is released
on 31 july or the first days of August... nobody will notice it!

the very most of people is in vacation,
if you wont consider the release only as a "coppertone edition"...

and...
when people will see it, in September, it would be considered old
as all the new Autumn distros will be equipped with new KDE 3.14

In the meanwhile, I am making my best to have good/stable kernels 3.14, 3.15:

- Kernel 3.14, with its latest release 3.14.13 can be considered already good

- kernel 3.15: kernel 3.15.6 is ready, and I started my internal tests...

as promised the last days I have focused entirely on the kernel 3.15 project
and currently we have the rpms, but something still is freezing in the boot

also for kernel, generally to make it stable and to test it properly,
it needs at least 3 or 4 weeks and some different versions to refine,

releasing omv2014.1 with young kernel / low tested may be really dangerous

waiting for the end of August, can leave us the time to have a mature 3.15
surely we may have 3.15.10/11, pratically the EOL so the best 3.15 possible

Please,
let's reconsider, with the right attention, the OpenMandriva 2014.1 release!

thanks
bye, NicCo
