That question as posed is unanswerable.
If you think there are "hangs" during a urpmi update, then
log onto the system and use top looking for activity.
If no activity, then look for a deadlock using dbXY_utils
something like
dbXY_stat -CA # (-Cl displays the active locks)
Run that command twice and compare the output if necessary.
There is no reason whatsoever to suspect a "hang" in
URPM -> rpm -> bdb
correlated with "big pkg" downloads however.
