Greetings Colin,
I'm trying this again. With flash drive install (build 7136) it shows
the ioctl error after grub2 install step. Trying at that point to
install manually (grub2-efi-install --efi-directory /mnt /dev/sda1) it
shows 2 errors. It wants to do a i386 install on a 64 bit system. And
then it complains:
grub2-efi-install: error: Cannot find a device for /boot/grub2. Is /dev
mounted?
So I must be missing a step in getting everything needed mounted.
Thanks,
Ben

My ASUS notebook with uefi boot is being sent back to ASUS for repair
under warranty. Wasn't able to get Windows working again myself so
they're going to reinstall it. When I get it back I will give this .iso
a test.
Thanks,

Hi Ben,
TPG has spun me a new iso which has the latest grub packages on it. You
might want to try it. I'm just waiting for it to download and then I'll
give it a basic test. It's here if you want to have a go too
