Thanks Colin,
Setting /boot/efi partition wasn't enough I also had to boot in to Live
mode and run 'urpmi efivar efibootmgr grub2 grub2-efi'. That implies
that our 2014.1 .iso's need to be updated for UEFI support to be in effect.

Ben,
Try the following with the 2014.1 iso... When you partition make sure you give
/dev/sda1 (your EFI partition) a mountpoint on /boot/efi and it will probably
work.
Best,
Colin

Joe's crab cakes. I forgot to mention that current 2014.1 .iso fails to
install grub2 with the long running 'incorrect ioctl' error.

I had an .iso I'd gotten from Colin but I've lost the file in
confusion of rebuilding one and building another computer and a
critical SSD failure (probably where I had that .iso). Can someone
point me to a link for a OM Lx 2014.1 .iso that will boot and install
grub2 in UEFI. The standard one from:
https://openmandriva.org/
will boot in UEFI but won't install grub2... I thought we had this
fixed. But I may be remembering incorrectly.
