luca what I'm trying to get at here is that a newbie user in a fresh install of
OM Lx 2014.1 who decides to try VirtualBox for the first time and installs
OpenMandriva packages from our repos is going to get the error I have described
unless they manually do something to correct. Isn't this supposed to be a major
concern when we file bugs?
The easiest way I know to correct is simply '$ sudo systemctl enable
virtualbox' then reboot.
So are we expecting a newbie user to know to do that or should we be producing
packages that just work? Are we expecting a new user to extrapolate
'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: No such file or directory' to mean that they need to run
'systemctl enable virtualbox' and reboot?
I don't think a supposedly "newbie friendly distro" should be expecting a noob
to know to run 'systemctl enable virtualbox' in order to get our software to
work. Perhaps I'm wrong on this. If I AM wrong then this ain't a bug.
Of note this is not a one time bug. I get it every time I have installed any
version of OpenMandriva since the first 2013 Alpha. I've repeated this many,
many times. How:
How to reproduce:
1. Fresh install of OpenMandriva (Any version) on formatted partition
2. Update
3. Install VirtualBox packages
4. reboot
5. try to start a VirtualBox virtual machine
Result:
VirtualBox error shown in "Snapshot of bug no one believes exists but me..."
Repeats:
Every time
