Hi

VMWare virtualization with Kernel
3.19http://forum.rosalab.ru/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1223&p=43694#p43694

With the current VMware 11 / VMPlayer 7:
VMWare does NOT build with Kernels greater than 3.18, so it requires some
unofficial patching ;-(

Here is the solution for the current vmware with a kernel 3.19:
You must replace a file before vmware can build its modules.

- Download and Save our fixed source
file:http://mib.pianetalinux.org/MIB/rosa2014.1/vmnet.tar
- Copy/Replace the original vmnet.tar with our fixed one
to:
destination path is > /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source

Now VMWare can rebuild successfully all its modules

Kernel 3.19.5 for ROSA 2012 2012.1 2014.1 OMV2013 2014 2015
http://mib.pianetalinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4560

I have started preparing new kernel 3.19.1 (as base), then I've decided to jump
straight to kernel 3.19.5

I've installed in all my PCs, kernel 3.19.5 seems running just fine...

Kernel 3.19, TO DO:
still to add some more patches, still to verify again few defconfigs, working on
that, these fixes will be added soon in the next 3.19.6
let me know your feedback and impressions!

thanks for Your attention,bye, NicCo
