Hi, as you may have noticed latest systemd brings replacement for su. Ofcourse this started some discussion on many mailing lists and forums, like why replace something that it works and is safe...
For me explanation for this is quite clear https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/825#issuecomment-127917622 If you like to try how new "replacement" for su works type: machinectl shell by default it will invoke with --uid=0 (it corresponds for root user) and -- setenv from system settings. -- Cheers TPG
