You can fix some of the Problems with the Systemd, Resolver and Network Manager Applet when using Kernel naming of the Network Interfaces, we had an nearly endless Discussion abt this topic to use in Future Kernel NIC Naming or not. A Hint for you...... (on Gentoo, never installed OM) in /etc/init.d/* you find the needed..... i simply use a trick and set symlinks so net.enp** points with a Symlink to net.eth0 BUT! Use this with attention and care, this works only with one NIC Some of the Background why the Kernel now names the NICs is.... Attacs and Networks crashes could disable the Interfaces and the security is gone. Try your luck, with the Wiki infos and the Symlink trick you can get it working perfectly ! By the way, why End-Users should still have Access to the NM Applet? we disabled them and only Group Root has rights... some more hints? Think why ;) GOOD LUCK THEN !
