Thanks Colin. The command 'efibootmgr -b 0005 -B' will remove an entry
in normal circumstances.
As far as the 'efibootmgr: Could not delete boot variable: No space left
on device' a few days later that problem was mysteriously gone. Now all
*seems* OK. NO idea why?

This is in 2014 fully updated but from experience it will affect every

Hi Ben,
It should be possible to delete unused entries. If I remember rightly deletion
is a two stage process. Try running efibootmgr -b 0005
then run efibootmgr -B 0005. I can't check this but I do remember it being a
two stage process so a little experimentation on the unneeded boot entry should
get you there.
Best,
Colin
