And the version on build # 86 .iso is 'microcode_ctl.2.1-14-omv2015.x86_64' same as Cooker. So I have no idea what the .iso would be doing this but I've tested it 6 times and results never vary.

I do wonder if this is the same issue we fixed earlier, the one I spent over 100 hours on, OR if it is something new or something different.

I don't have the issue on installed hardware. It only happens immediately after booting one of the .iso's made since March 3. So I'll check and see what microcode version that has, though not sure why it would be older than microcode in Cooker and surely it is newer than microcode in 2014.

And in 2014:

$ rpm -qa | grep microcode
microcode_ctl-2.1-0.3-omv2014.0.x86_64

On Cooker installed on hardware fully updated:

# rpm -qa | grep microcode
microcode_ctl-2.1-14-omv2015.0.x86_64

What am I trying to confirm the microcode package on the .iso or on installed system?

Ben iirc it was the microcode package that was updated; can you confirm.

Changing the title of this thread I hope to better describe the issue.

Yeah, I'm getting massively slow read speeds on my SSD in Cooker again...

Using '# hdparm -t /ev/sdc' SSD speed drops from 485 MB/sec to 38
MB/sec. Not fun.

Seems to happen after booting OMLx3 Alpha .iso's yesterday and today.
Today's was build 86. After testing multiple times I can confirm that
every time I boot .iso # 86 into Live and then boot back into an
installed system my SSD timed read speed has dropped on the order of 485
MB/s down to 38 MB/s or less.

Have we somehow abandoned that which was fixed?
