Hello Chris,

What is a good application for maintaining web sites. I used to use quanta (running Mandriva 2009 on vbox) but now need a replacement for this.

I had some Content Management Systems in use like Joomla, TYPO3 etc. in use which are essentially web-applications but with Joomla my site once got compromised and I found TYPO3 extremely difficult to upgrade between LTS-versions. So I mainly went back to developing static websites using a plain-text editor.

I also posted a notice on my site to people from foreign countries not to bother me anymore with their "offers" of setting up Wordpress for me. I had a lot of these from social networks.

So my site www.linuxandlanguages.com looks fairly basic and old school but it loads fairly quickly.

Recently I have done a website for a local company and used a "Homepage Building Kit" their ISP (German Telekom) offers. I found this easy to use to set up something suitable but with these solutions there is a lot of redundant and invalid HTML-code being generated.
