Thanks everybody for answering me. I think that would be cool to support at least one of those projects, but i'm not saying for the whole system, maybe only as a alternative to RPM. My complaints about RPM and how those projects could help are the following:
I probably can't install a RPM file made for Mageia or RedHat on OpenMandriva, so a lot of work and manpower that could be redirected to OpenMandriva's development is wasted creating packages for every program and dependencies, also, moving the work from distro's developers to program's developers would make updates easier, because the only work for updating a program would be fetching the updated packages from the internet. As far as I know, Flatpak detects when a program is using a library that is already present in the system and delete the duplicates, thus requiring less space, and both projects run programs through a sandbox, increasing security, specially when using Mir or Wayland. Once again, thanks everybody and I wish the best for you! :) _______________________________________________ OM-Cooker mailing list [email protected] http://ml.openmandriva.org/mailman/listinfo/om-cooker_ml.openmandriva.org
