This in 2014 x86_64 on an older MBR ASUS K53E notebook.

# grub2-install --force /dev/sda11
Installing for i386-pc platform.
grub2-install: warning: File system ‘ext2’ doesn't support embedding.
grub2-install: warning: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged..
Installation finished. No error reported.

# rpm -qa | grep grub2
grub2-2.02-1.beta3.3-omv2014.0.x86_64
kcm-grub2-0.6.4-4.1-omv2014.0.x86_64
grub2-efi-2.02-1.beta3.3-omv2014.0.x86_64

Why? After all this time we don't have grub2 working with our own installed systems? The fs types are ext4. This system has been installed and used for a long time. Why is grub2 not working now? Also why is "Installing for i386-pc platform"? Because it's MBR? That doesn't make sense.

I'm probably going to have to file a bug report but would like to know a little more first.
