Hi, omd-1.00 is working fine for me on Ubuntu 12.04.
I'd suggest taking a look in the site's specific apache logs, usually found at /omd/sites/sitename/var/log/apache/error_log What do you mean by empty configuration? Do you create a new site with its default configuration and the error appears?
