How can we update Icinga to current latest version? We want to keep it current

Is there any specific guide a really simple one to integrate SNMP TRAPS to OMD Icinga ?

hi,

I setup OMD, added a host, but after that all services are in PENDING state.
Actually almost all, because I added Check_MK and http (so active?)
services as well, they are checked fine.

Do I miss something?

Thanks,
tamas

I am currently running OMD 1.00 on a set of CentOS 6 servers and have
noticed the following problem:

Every so often, host and service checks for a service will simply stop
being scheduled, and will only start back up in a normal schedule again
after forcing a reschedule, or restarting the omd site. At first, I
thought it could be because of the mod-gearman NEB I am using to
distribute checks, but that doesn't appear to be the case since I never
see a "Timed Event" in the icinga debug logs showing Icinga is
attempting to reschedule this.

Anyone have an idea of what could be causing this? check_interval is set
to 60 seconds and freshness_threshold to 120 seconds.

Hi, I am using OMD 1.0 and according to the check_mk wiki, I should be able
to find check_mk notification logs under ~/var/check_mk/notify/notify.log

But it is empty in ~/var/check_mk/notify/  , no file is in that directory.
I am try to write a custom notification script and hope to use that to test
my script.

any help would be appreciated, thanks,

Henry

Hi all,

I have spent a fair portion of my day on this and am hoping to gain some
help or at least be pointed in the right direction.

My intended setup has a central server and many remote offices worldwide
with an OMD installation in each office. I would like to make an SSH
connection between the central server and each remote office and tunnel the
traffic through it. When I attempt to redirect 6557 or 6556 using ssh -L,
I get some rejected. Testing my ssh -L command on port 80 allows me to
connect to the remote web interface with localhost:port/omd/check_mk.

How would I go about configuring the traffic for Check_MK to push through
the SSH tunnel?

Example of one connection:
Central Server <-----> Firewall <-----> net <-----> Firewall <----->
OMD/Check_MK Server

Want to setup Distributed Monitoring in WATO to reflect this architecture:
Central Server <----------------------------- SSH ----------------------->
OMD/Check_MK Server

Many thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Joshua

Hi list,

I have a Centos 6.4 server with omd-1.00-rh61-30.x86_64 installed.

I followed this link (
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00278.html)
to upgrade check_mk to include the vmware-checks. The file I
downloaded
and installed was check_mk-1.2.2p3.tar.gz

It seemed to go great. But when I try to add a vmware-server and press
"Host & Service Parameters" and then "Datasource Programs" the Datasource
Programs is missing.

Why? Is my version to old or did I not upgrade correctly? Is this function
not available in the community version?

Regards Roald Amundsen

Hi Roald,

You need the cmk innovation release, not stable. Latest version is 1.2.3i6.
